KBSAM PROJECT TOOL
Estimate the timber potentially avoided by choosing KBSAM aluminium systems.
01
Use actual dimensions for a stronger estimate. Quick mode uses typical opening sizes and shows a lower-confidence result.
The estimator provides an indicative material-substitution estimate. It is not a full lifecycle assessment, carbon claim or independently audited environmental certification.
03
The estimator converts the supplied opening and partition area into an indicative conventional timber-frame volume. It applies separate component coefficients and a processing-waste allowance, then presents a tree-equivalent range.
TIMBER VOLUME = COMPONENT AREA × COEFFICIENT × WASTE FACTOR
| Component | Coefficient |
|---|---|
| Window | 0.03 m³/m² |
| Door | 0.045 m³/m² |
| Partition | 0.035 m³/m² |
| Processing waste | 15% |
| Usable timber per tree | 0.35–0.55 m³ |
It does not compare embodied carbon, energy, transport, thermal performance, maintenance, product life or end-of-life recovery. Those require product-specific lifecycle data and a defined assessment boundary.
